The Falezze farm has always cherished their dream of producing a high quality oil indicative of its area of origin, which has become a reality thanks to the Grignano variety. The PDO 100% Grignano Veneto Valpolicella extra virgin olive oil is produced exclusively in the area of Falezze, in the the municipality of Mezzane, adjacent to the vineyards used for the production of Amarone and Ripasso. We wanted to produce a unique, guaranteed E.V.O oil at every stage, from the collection to the bottle, in order to sponsor the territory along with other high quality products. The name of the cultivar, Grignano, presumably originates from Gargnano, a town on the shore of Lake Garda, in Brescia; this variety has adapted over the centuries to the Mediterranean climate of the hills of Verona, far from the mild climate of Lake Garda. The Grignano cultivar is cold weather and disease resistant but difficult to manage and has a very low yield in oil; this characteristic caused a gradual abandonment of its cultivation in favor of more productive varieties, until companies like Falezze, which strongly believed in the representation of local identity through the rediscovery of indigenous varieties, fought against the homologation of the dominant species in favor of the richness of biodiversity.
