Azienda Agricola Titone

Since 1936, in a strip of land between Trapani and Marsala in front of Erice, behind ancient Mothia and Egadi. The Titone family produces a good, natural high quality oil. The olive culture here has ancient roots that are recognized today by the PDO Valli Trapanesi, an area in which olives groves.

The company was one of the first to convert to organic farming in Sicily. Since 1992, all the stages of production have been controlled and certified by CCPB Ltd under EC Regulation 834/2007.

The company adheres to the CCPB Global Programme and the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and UNI EN ISO 14001:2004.

Today, the farm is led by Antonella Titone, with 19 acres of olive trees and 6,000 plants that produce about 10,000 gallons of oil, 6000 liters of which are PDO Valli Trapanesi Biologiche. The olives of each cultivar (Cerasuola, Nocellara del Belice, and Biancolilla) are hand picked, starting from the first week of October, and are pressed after a few hours in the olive press.

The produced mono varietal oils are stored under nitrogen in steel silos and are mixed, only after repeated chemical analyzes and samples, in order to form PDO Titone Valli Trapanesi Biologico oil and Titone Biologico oil.
